24TH BIRTHDAY

It's not everyday that you turn 24! We celebrated my birthday in Italy, near Rodi Garganico, in Puglia. My celebration 1 700 km away from home! During my lifetime, I had my last birthday celebration when I was a little girl. So this was a big event for me since I did not have one for many years. I've had some sweets from pasticceria, with a candle, and also a great dinner. Plus a walk along the beach with the sun slowly setting in. I was so grateful and honoured to experience this. Thank you for the celebration...

Z FILMU "PAS SON GENRE"

... Kdepak, o tohle už nestojím. Ale pořád věřím na lásku. Čekám na tu velkou lásku. Čekám na svýho prince. Je to hloupý, co? ... Je. Ale Váhy už jsou takový. Vždycky budu snílek.

TRATTORIA IN PUGLIA

Trattoria, as I wrote before, is an Italian restaurant which produces most of their meals (their own meat, fruit, vegetables,...). And it is also usually cheaper than a regular restaurant. We were sitting outside and the place, with the lit candles and the overall atmosphere, was very romantic. There was a lot of food and by the end, we were full. Completely!! The only meal I did not like was a horse meat - that was difficult for me to eat. Enjoy the photos!

THE FOOD OF PUGLIA (SALENTO)

During our holidays in Italia, Puglia (an Italian region with the capital city: Bari), we tasted their traditional cuisine. It consisted, of course, mainly of seafood. My favourites are langoustines. We also had caprese - a salad - dominating with its tree main colours of Italy: red, green and white. But this is not captured in the photos, unfortunately. Enjoy!

DINNER IN PUGLIA'S TRATTORIA

Trattoria is a restaurant where they produce most of their meals on their own. There is a farm where they have farm animals, they grow their vegetables, fruit,... And it's usually for a better price. That is where we went one evening and here is what I wore!

BAIA DEI TURCHI, PUGLIA, ITALIA

This beach is said to be the most beautiful Italian beach. The colour of the sea was beautifully blue, but as we could have supposed, it was overcrowded. We got there by bus, which is not the only way, but we found out about that later. Then after we arrived, we had to walk a while to get to the beach. I do not regret visiting it! It was very nice. However, a few kilometres away on foot, we found a beach with much less people, even though the sand was a bit black. Enjoy the photos!

A WALK TO OTRANTO

These photos capture our walk through the dry landscape of Puglia to Otranto. The cicale (cicadas) were screaming all around us, but I acommodated to that sound very quickly. It was a nice walk, though a bit scary since there was no one around there, only plain lands and dry grass everywhere. It was very hot again, but my hat made it better. Enjoy the photos!

OUR HOME IN UGGIANO LA CHIESA

Here are photos that portray our holiday home in a town called Uggiano la Chiesa, in Puglia, near Otranto. The house belonged to an Italian man called Luciano, who came to give us the keys together with his son. They said we were the first people to rent their house for holidays! Everything was nice and new, and very colourful which I liked a lot. The climate was very hot, since the early morning the heat hit you in the face the first time you opened the terrace door. On the terrace (which was quite big) was a dining table and an extra shower (for when you come back from a beach with sand all over you). In the evening, it was very nice to sit there and listen to the cicale (cicadas), it was, in a way, romantic and calming. Overall, it was a very nice stay and I recommend it to you! Otranto was nearby (a nice walk through the dry landscape of Puglia), and the house was called A Casa di Luciano.

FIRST EVENING IN OTRANTO, PUGLIA

Right when we brought our bags and luggage to our holiday home, we went out to the city of Otranto for a little exploration! There is one word that describes the city to me: white. All the houses were light, white. Well, see for yourself! We arrived in the evening, so we were a bit tired, but it was a nice walk/ride.
