B&W: DECEMBER PRAGUE

Today I had a day off, so I went out for a walk around the christmas Prague. I think the photos turned out very well and I am really happy about them. This is exactly how I always imagined to photograph Prague. What do you think of them and which photo do you like the best?

ZNOJMO

My step sister with her mother went on a tour to Austria to see the Krampuslauf and they took me with them. On our way, we stopped in Znojmo where there were nice Christmas markets, but otherwise I did not like the city very much. Have you ever been to Znojmo, too?

VYSOKÝ ÚJEZD, SV. JAN POD SKALOU, ČERVENÝ ÚJEZD & RADOTÍN

Me and my friend Milan went on a trip during the weekend again (on my way, I "picked up" a chocolate baguette at Paul bakery :)). This time, to Vysoký Újezd, approximately 10 kilometres far from Beroun. This place had almost a horror atmosphere, due to the fog all around... Then we went to a city Svatý Jan pod Skalou, which was a very nice place and in the summer it must be a great hideaway from the heat. And finally, we went to the castle in Červený Újezd, which is a new building (2001-2002), built in the style of a knight's fortress and homestead. There is also located a restaurant Krčma. And this time finally for real, we were in Radotín (Prague 16), where there a café Pelíšek catched my eye. "Pelíšky" is my favourite czech film :) Have you ever been to these places?

CHATEAU MNÍŠEK POD BRDY

On Sunday, me and my friend Milan visited the Chateau Mníšek pod Brdy. It is located in the district Prague-west. Nearby, there is also a park and a pond. The city Mníšek pod Brdy itself is very nice. Have you ever been there?

PROKOPSKÉ ÚDOLÍ

Have you ever been to Prokopské údolí (valley)? If not, make sure to go there! It is located in Prague 5 and it is a natural reservoir. It is kind of "a piece of village" practically in the centre of the capital city.

AUTUMN WEEKEND

I spent the weekend at my step sister's. I don't like autumn much, but we had a nice weekend. Her mom cooked delicious sausages with an onion-tomato sauce. I would like to try it too, one day. It is going to be a month since I started living on my own (with a roommate). It is a great feeling, but I miss my home sometimes. But I finally got the feeling that something is happening in life and I am experiencing new things. What was your weekend like?

WINTER: NEW LITTLE THINGS

I was lucky to find this nice sweater at Textile House and a hair bow at H&M. I think that those are nice new things, at least I think so :)

WINTER'S MAGIC

Every season of the year has its pros and cos, but there are nice things about winter as well. For example snowdrifts (but only in case you do not have to get rid of the snow that is all over your car in the morning :)), winter fun, romantic landscapes covered in snow, cloudy skies that make you dream...

What do you like most about winter?

WINTER WALK

Here are a few photos from our walk with my little sister. Winter walks do have their magic. Everything is covered in white snow and weather that makes you think of what the next summer is going to be like :) With winter, there also come some unpleasant things, such as cold, sore throat etc., but you have to take it as it is.

CHILDHOOD GARDEN

Nostalgia is a dirty liar that insists things were better than they seemed

Quite logically, childhood is a part of life that forms you in your first years of your life. That is why people keep their memories (good and bad ones too/or they rather forget about the bad ones) from childhood times. In my grandparent's garden, me and my little sister used to spend some time during every summer. My kind grandpa used to do barbecues often (marinated chicken or ribs) and my grandma used to hang the laundry in the back of the garden often. Good times. Now it was not always perfect, but I remember the good things.

Summer is a fine part of the year, especially when it is your last summer holidays after school. Otherwise summer to me means sun, water melon, ice creams, garden, pool, taking photos, short walks, reading and thinking :)

"ABC" MAGAZINE: A COTTAGE

This was one of a detailed, precious work, from a well-known Czech magazine - ABC. I think this was the second time that I tried to make something like this. The first time it was a model of mantis religious (Mantis religiosa) in the elementary school.

My dad actually inspired me to do this photo-project. And he also inspired me to do it better the next time - to take photo of the exact same place in a different season of the year. I think it is an interesting idea for a photo-project :)

My sister carved this little pumpkin at school. I know that Halloween is an american festive, we have "Dušičky" :) But still I like to decorate the home with halloween decor and carve pumpkins, watch horror films...

CREATIVITY

I have always liked to draw and paint, and the Art Class was (right after English Class) my favourite subject at school :) Unfortunately mi skills are not that good yet to draw something entirely on my own, so I usually re-draw (not literally, more like I am inspired by a drawing) someone else's drawings. I would like to change that.

MY CAMERA

I take my DSLR camera with me almost everywhere and almost never forget it home. In this picture, there are the set lenses (not bad, but no stabilization).

YVES SAINT LAURENT - BABYDOLL

When my Mom had her birthday, I was thinking about what to give her. Then I remembered that not long ago, I saw a documentary about a french designer Yves Saint Laurent. He seemed to me like such an interesting person. He was shy, but he had a sense for fashion and designed great clothes. My favourite blogger wrote about this mascara, only in superlatives, so I checked it out and the choice was crystal clear. It is quite expensive for a mascara, but I believed it would be worth it and it is!

BOOK TIPS I.

Usually, when I borrowed a book in the library, or bought one, I took a photo of it. So therefore I decided to make a post about books that I read recently!

This book by Elizabeth Bard contains recipes from the french cuisine, besides that :) Otherwise it is basically a story of an American girl studying in Paris who falls in love there with a French man.

DOMAŽLICE

I spent a few days at my father's. We went to see an aquapark Babylon, then also Klenčí pod Čerchovem and finally Domažlice, where there "chodské slavnosti" were taking place. In the meantime we also made a barbecue in the garden. Have you ever been there?

HLUBOKÁ NAD VLTAVOU

During our holidays in the Southern Bohemia, we made one more trip to Hluboká nad Vltavou. A really beautiful chateau is there, and also a chateau park. I liked it there very much. Do you like the photos?

HORNÍ PLANÁ

Almost every day, I walked to a near city Horní Planá, from where I was also sending postcards. It is the highest town in South Bohemia, 776 metres above the sea. It was always quite a pleasant walk. One time I went there with my roller skates.

ČESKÝ KRUMLOV

I really liked Český Krumlov. We made a trip to this city during our stay in the Southern Bohemia, because it was nearby. I even made it to the "Zámecká věž" with my fear of heights. "Jihočeské divadlo" (the local theatre) has got the famous revolving auditorium here. I was surprised by the amount of Chinese tourists in this city. Have you ever been there?

BY THE SUNSET

I, personally, am a big fan of sunsets. But of sunrises, too. When I went for a walk to a cycling trail to Pernek, I took these photos. What do you think of them?
